  • Moses & Singer LLP 405 Lexington Avenue New York, NY, 10174 United States (map)

We’re hosting Senior Director of Columbia Entrepreneurship Chris McGarry, who will speak to the Society about “The Columbia University Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Design Initiative”. Led by former Vice Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees and Special Advisor to the President, Richard E. Whitten ‘75CC, the operating scope of the group’s influence on Columbia pedagogy and programming is large, and it has grown rapidly.

They work with all Columbia Schools who run their own entrepreneurship initiatives and they reach out to alumni from Beijing to Brooklyn to help support the program.

Since Columbia Entrepreneurship was founded in 2014, the group has launched more than 30 new courses; given away $1,500,000 in non-dilutive grants to fledgling entrepreneurs, and they’ve launched a large incubator in SoHo that is home for 71 young-alumni, Columbia founders who are all working full-time on their ventures.

Accompanying Mr. McGarry will be Michael Raymond Retchin ‘20CC who is the President of the Columbia Organization for Rising Entrepreneurs (C.O.R.E), one of the largest student clubs on campus.

All Members, Alumni, Friends of the Society, and their Guests are invited. Registration required - $35

Catered Reception: 6 - 7 PM / Presentation: 7 - 8:15 PM
